| | When I first began homeschooling, I found it fairly simple and fun. It actually gave me something I could do with my children for about 2 hours a day that was focused one-on-one time for them. We were relaxed and enjoyed the games we played, the songs we sang and the colorful workbooks we used. The learning curve began for me when they grew up enough to ask more questions than I had answers for. How thankful I am for that stretch. After 13 years as a homeschooling mom, I now know I learned more in the last five than I did in all the years I went to school as a student. Every holiday has become a field trip. Every event of our lives a learning adventure. Although I am heading toward the home stretch in my teaching career, I am convinced that the learning curve will never cease to draw me ever upwards. |
