Welcome to the
River Valley Home Educators Website!

Where we are located

Nestled in the upper St. John River Valley area of New Brunswick, Canada, are a lot of small communities. And that is right where we are...living in one of the most beautiful places in the country. We are home to the longest covered bridge in the world, and the french fry capital of the world, and we have come together as a homeschool group.

Our homeschool group is made up of people from Aroostook, Florenceville, Hartland, Woodstock and surrounding areas.  So if you live in or around any of those areas...we would love to have you join us! Any and all homeschoolers are welcome!

How we got started

Our homeschool group began back in 2005 as a result of a few moms who wanted to get their homeschooled children together. Now in our 6th year, we have about 25 families involved. We try to have a regular mom's meeting once a month to plan activities and field trips. It is also a great time to get a chance to chat with other homeschooling moms. As a result of that planning, we try to get the children together a couple of times a month for fun and educational outings.

Who we are

We are parents, just like you. We have chosen to educate our children at home rather than sending them to school...be it public or private. We all have different reasons for that decision...but we all firmly believe we are doing what we feel is best for our children. We come from all walks of life and have different beliefs, but one thing in common bonds us together...HOMESCHOOLING!

What is the purpose of this website?

The purpose of this website is basically two-fold.

1) It is an information tool for someone looking to homeschool their children. We do not have all the answers, but we can try to point you in the right direction for finding those answers.

 2) It is a central place for homeschoolers in our homeschool group to meet, get information, sell their used books, and find out what is coming up next for group.
